Also add a few humerous stories or one liners if you want to lighten things up a little (Example - I expect you remember the time when he fell into the river while fishing, got wet and lost his only catch for the day )

Below is a very simple but meaningful Tribute.....

John was born in the Islington area of London on the 14th February 1914 – he was 1 of 5 children but sadly both his brothers, Don & Fred have passed away so he is now survived by his 2 sisters, June and Doreen.

John was proud of the fact that he served in the Navy - he served on Minesweepers…..when he left the Navy, most of his working days were spent working in the print and he did that right up until he retired.

One of the happy times in John’s life was when he married Audrey – they were blessed with 2 sons, Eric & Ray – Sadly Audrey passed away in October 2000 and it goes without saying that John sorely missed her.

There were one or two things that John enjoyed doing – he loved gardening and pottering about in his greenhouse – he liked music and he listened to all sorts and loved the radio on loud so that he could hear it as well as all his neighbours!! And when he was young he used to play the piano accordion.

John also enjoyed the many times that he and Audrey went to stay in their caravan up at Clacton for weekend breaks and holidays - these were very special times.

So, John will be remembered in many different ways – a man who will be remembered as never being grumpy– he was always jolly & had a great sense of humour – he was extremely caring and kind and as the boys told me - he was just a perfect dad and he was liked by everybody.

John will be very sadly missed and especially by the people who loved him the most - by his sons and by his daughters in law – as well as by the granddaughters – also by the 13 great grandchildren - John loved & thought the world of them all – he will also be greatly missed by the rest of the family, relations & friends.
